I think the thing with FF is that it's going to appeal to a certain type of audience. Batman Begins and the Spiderman flicks were meant to appeal to fans as well as non-fans, young and old. I'm pretty picky so I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD but I'm sure I'll eventually see it. Hell, I loved Daredevil so maybe the critics ARE being too hard on it. [img]confused.gif[/img]

We just got back, and we both enjoyed it, for the most part.
Only thig I *really* didn't like was totally re-writing Doom's role. I'd much prefer the Lateverian dictator, to a corporate boss villian.
I also saw no reason on earth why suddenly Alicia was back.. to appeased the black demographic?
I coulda swore Johnny was still blonde as well.
And Thing *really* shoulda had the big brows.
Upsides were that the character interaction was GREAT, and even small stuff like Willie showed up, which was also great. The effects weren't over the top, but they did and excellent job portraying the powers.

I'm hoping, with it's performance higher then expected, that they give the green light to a sequel.
And that they get a clue, and decide to go ahead with the Silver Surfer/Galactus idea, with them looking to Doom for assistance, to tie it in with the first movie.
I gotta admit, I'm a little more interested in seeing this now than I was two weeks ago.
although I agree with Gareee on many of his points, esp the Thing and Doom.

Went and saw it last night.... I actually ended up thinking Doom was very well acted and pretty cool. I liked the way he was metal and "stored" energy... not like he was generating it, but "pulling" it from elsewhere and saving it up.
Johnny Storm was great in execution and casting.
The plot was a bit rushed and I felt the stuff regarding Ben, Reed and Reed's machine a bit hoaky and forced. Now that Reed has that machine.... ANYONE can just step in and get superpowers. [img]graemlins/whatever.gif[/img]
My biggest complaint is (yet again) they GIVE AWAY TOO MUCH IN THE TRAILERS.
Between the 10-15 or so still images I've seen from the movie, and the trailers... there were hardly any surprises left for me. [img]mad.gif[/img]
What ever happened to enticing people with the FEEL of a movie, without giving away the whole damned movie???
